“ I thrive on creative challenges. Just like a painting, any creative project has a life of its own, adding to the final design”
 – Amanda

Amanda has been designing, decorating and styling film sets and stills since 2001 - mostly  for reality shows, TV dramas, commercials, catalogues and decor magazines.

Amanda has been nominated a couple of times and won a SAFTA for Best Art Directing in a TV Drama. My Kitchen Rules SA 2 (which she art directed) also won a SAFTA for Best International Format.

Amanda’s strengths are set design, on trend decorating and managing the creative process  - on deadline and within budget.

Amanda has a degree in BA/Fine Arts (Information Design) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
She matriculated from Die Kruin (now the National School of Arts) as best student in Design and Photography. She believes in lifelong learning and studied UX Design in 2022. Transferable skills and non-linear career paths are the trend, but Amanda has been moving between roles  her entire life.

She started her career as  a graphic designer and one exciting project was designing the online tourist hub, Destination Aspen, for the ski resort town in the Rocky mountains. She also worked for a NGO for a couple of years.
